Our Ops Boss® Coaches LOVE to read! Enjoy this list of the books we read in 2021. As you can see, it’s quite a long list so we asked the coaches to pick one favorite from the year to highlight.

Our Favorite Books of the Year

Coach Stephanie’s Favorite Book – Fix This Next by Mike Michalowicz

Why she likes it

Super practical advice for determining what’s wrong in any company and fixing it – in order of importance.

Coach Jessica’s Favorite Book – Think Again by Adam Grant

Why she likes it

I love everything by Adam Grant. This one is my second favorite of his (Originals is my favorite). From a very young age, we get set in our ways of how we look at things and make decisions. Adam challenges the 2-choice thought process (yes/no, right/left, red/green).  He shares the concept that to grow you actually need to rethink and unlearn.

Coach Elizabeth’s Favorite Book – Personality Isn’t Permanent: Break Free from Self-Limiting Beliefs and Rewrite Your Story by Benjamin Hardy

Why she likes it –

Some real estate teams are very focused on categorizing people by their personality type. They do that because they know certain personality types do well in certain roles and other types do poorly. What’s fascinating is that individuals get to decide how they want to be in the world; they don’t have to be only one thing forever.

Coach Hannah’s Favorite Book – The Power of Broke: How Empty Pockets, a Tight Budget, and a Hunger for Success Can Become Your Greatest Competitive Advantage by Daymond John

Why she likes it –

This book really digs into how our background, history, and struggles can impact and teach us how to run a successful business. Daymond John pulls from his own experience as well as the experience of lots of other successful individuals, setting up lessons learned through their struggles.

Coach Ellenmarie’s Favorite Book – The Coaching Habit: Say Less, Ask More, and Change the Way You Lead Forever by Michael Bungay Stanier

Why she likes it –

This year I think the Coaching Habit was a book I read, re-read and referenced the most!  I loved the simple yet powerful questions that gave me the framework for meaningful conversations. Throughout the book there are reminders in creating the right habits, this definitely helped me realize certain triggers and create new habits.

Coach Christy’s Favorite Book was also The Coaching Habit.

Why she likes it –

I’ve read this book multiple times. It’s powerful in its simplicity, with 7 simple questions that transform your conversations, help you get to the heart of the matter and effect change, whether with colleagues, friends or family. I like books that make it easy to take action. This one fits the bill.
